NITRONIC® 50 steel (UNS S20910) is a highly alloyed austenitic stainless steel, designed to offer:
• Excellent corrosion resistance, superior to 316/316L and 317/317L grades.
• High mechanical strength, approximately double that of 316 in the annealed condition.
• Outstanding mechanical performance at both high and low temperatures.
• Non-magnetic, even after cold working or cooling to cryogenic temperatures.
NITRONIC® 50 combines high-performance strength, ductility and machinability characteristics, making it ideal for highly aggressive environments.

• Superior general corrosion resistance compared to 316/316L and 317/317L in numerous aggressive environments.
• Excellent resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.
• Superior crevice corrosion resistance compared to standard 316L grades.
• Good resistance in environments containing organic and inorganic acids.
• May be subject to stress corrosion cracking in high-temperature chloride-containing environments, like all austenitic steels.

• Machinability: Comparable to 316/317 grades, but requires reduced speeds, positive feeds and abundant coolant during machining.
• Weldability: All common techniques can be used; for maximum strength and corrosion resistance, the use of filler with similar composition is recommended.
