316Ti is a variant of austenitic 316, titanium-stabilized, designed to provide resistance to sensitization (formation of chromium carbides at grain boundaries) caused by prolonged exposure to temperatures between 425°C and 815°C.
Titanium bonds with carbon to form stable carbides, preventing the precipitation of chromium carbides, which could reduce corrosion resistance. Thanks to this stabilization, 316Ti is particularly suitable for high-temperature service and for applications in aggressive corrosive environments.
